pay more for less

So apparently the Internet Service Providers is trying to impose this law of charging internet per use. So like if you use X byte of internet you will be paying XX amount. So the more internet you use, the more you have to pay, like they do on Smartphones. But I personally can't imagine going back to that again, cuz I remember when they did that in Costa Rica, well actually they billed you for how long you use it, but still. I think it's the government trying to control us, and our knowledge. When this happens, you'll be thinking about using internet for the most important things, but I think that is impossible these days. I have been using internet recently to do job search. And it's obvious that I'll be spending massive amounts of time searching the internet, no? So I believe that this whole this Usage-Based Billing (UBB) is complete BS! We have to right of fredom of knowledge. I don't wanna have second thoughts on watching a Youtube video of otters holding hands just because they are going to charge me more for that!

Spam is Scam

I ran across this video on Yahoo from abc news about internet spam. They were trying to figure out if you could actually win something from these spams and pop-up messages. It was very interesting. As a surprise, people can actally win stuff. haha who would have thought? They talked to this Wendy lady who said that she has won a trip to somewhere, a truck and even a tuxedo that his son wore for his formal. How crazy is that. But I wonder how many contests she has entered in order to get all that. Probably hundred of thousands. maybe it's just luck. Maybe she became pro at it. Whereas the reporter she made up few fake email accounts and even bought a pre-paid phone for this experiment. She got lots of spamming messages into her inbox, lots of phone calls offering her stuff and text messages that would have lead her to pay more money. But still no prize. Except for maybe a spam sandwich.

But for someone who is very alone and becomes really good at entering sweeptakes (and not get into identity theft or any sort of trouble) then why not try it. It would be nice to win a thing or two. But in all it is just a waste of time. I wouldn't take my chances. Internet is a very dangerous place.

Here's the link to the video I saw, in case you wanna watch.

Next next next on chatroulette

I recently discovered what the whole buzz around Chatroulette.com is all about. It is funny yet scary at the same time. It is a website that is a chatroom, and you need a webcam to chat with someone one else. If you don't like the person you can click on next and another person will show up. There is also a chat box where you can type.

I have heard of it only a few times, and then I saw one article on one of my favourite websites showing up a bunch of funny/creepy screen shots from the chat. Here it is.

Please note: if you decide to be brave and log onto that website, I recommend not to do it by yourself. It's adviceable to be with other people like friends.

Of course, after seeing the website, I was too afraid to go to Chatroulette because of the weird people I might encounter. I personally don't like to show myself on webcam, so instead of showing my face, i directed the webcam to my housemate's cat who was sitting on my chair.

I got nexted by this guy dressed in black, a fat boy, and a couple of friends who talked to me "whoah! it's a cat on a computer! how'd do that?" and then exited the chatroom.

Like 7 minutes was all I could spend in that chatroom, hoping that I will not encounter any penis, old pervert guy, or someone with a weird costume.

I would like to try it again sometime, but not by myself, I'm too scared to do that. A guy told me that his friend found an old man in a bunny suit. Another friend told me that that's what she does in class with her friends and she finds it hilarious.

Hopefully my next experience with chatroulette will give me more to talk about - the very very weird people I might encounter out there.
